You Know Your TV Show Is A Success When Your Face Is 16 Stories High
Robert Taylor’s face is 16 story’s tall….not ACTUALLY, but a photo of his character Walt Longmire is! Based on the mystery novels by Craig Johnson, the ad is taking up the most prestigious (and tallest) billboard in Los Angeles, located at 9000 Sunset Blvd. That’s why we’ve chosen Robert Taylor as Walt for our Fierce Friday.
Season 2 of Longmire, which goes to air on May 27th in the US, is one of A&E’s most successful shows and this advertising for the launch proves it.

Angelina Jolie Hump Day Hero For Announcing Voluntary Mastectomy
An A-lister, an Acadamy Award winner, an activist, an artist, a wife, a mother – Angelina Jolie is a hump day hero for women everywhere!
With her powerful recent announcement of her choice to undergo a double mastectomy in light of her risk of hereditary breast cancer, Angelina has empowered women everywhere. We thought it appropriate to dedicate today’s Hump Day post to amazing Ange as she continues to spread a message of hope and awareness for women globally.
“I do not feel any less of a woman, I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my feminity”, wrote Jolie in the Ny York Times article called ‘My Medical Choice’.
“For any woman reading this, I hope it helps you to know you have options. I want to encourage every woman, especially if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer, to seek out the information and medical experts who can help you through this aspect of your life, and to make your own informed choices.” She writes in the article, ”I acknowledge that there are many wonderful holistic doctors working on alternatives to surgery. My own regimen will be posted in due course on the Web site of the Pink Lotus Breast Center. I hope that this will be helpful to other women.”
Here, here Angeline, we are behind you 100% of the way.

Tim Pocock Camps Out On Forbidden Ground

Camp actor Tim Pocock is going from strength to strength, which is why his new film Forbidden Ground is featuring in our ‘Trailer Tuesday’ this week. We see many films in our line of work, but we have to admit the preview screening of this movie has got us pretty damn excited! A self-financed Australian WWI drama shot in Sydney and rural NSW, the movie stars Tim, Johan Earl (also a co-director) and Martin Copping.
Earl also wrote the Forbidden Ground screenplay which focuses on three British soldiers, “We couldn’t afford to do a big-scale action film so we focussed on the three soldiers who wake up in a bomb crater in the middle of No Man’s Land,” Earl told SBS Film in a recent article.
When we asked Tim about the shoot he said that, “Whilst making the film in the craters, in the mud at 3am can’t hold a candle to what the soldiers really went though at the time, it did give us (as actors) a real insight into the harsh conditions and feeling of isolation that these men experienced.”
The explosions in this film are all real too as it was funded partly using the profits from Earl’s pyrotechnics and explosives business Armzfx, which provided 300 kg of explosives. Move over CGI, here comes the real thing!
No wonder Marquee staff were impressed with the film!
